The Witcher created a huge buzz even before the show’s debut on Netflix in 2019. “I do have a lot to say and I think that there’s a lot of, you know… we’ll obviously never get into exactly why Henry left, all of the reasons, but I can say it’s been a mutually respectful relationship… So please, please, please come back in six months when we can talk.”
Following Cavill’s departure, Liam Hemsworth joined the show to replace him to play Geralt and he will appear in season 4 of the series. Hissrich further revealed that she had constant support from Netflix even at the crucial turn of events.
Henry Cavill’s Message to Liam Hemsworth
Cavill took to his Instagram to reveal his departure from the show last year while wishing the best for The Hunger Games fame Hemsworth who is set to replace Cavill in the show.
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men,” Cavill made the heartbreaking announcement on his Instagram.
The former Superman star also wished the best to Hemsworth, “Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find.” Obviously, it was a bold move but the show must go on, at least, Netflix is quite clear about it. The show has been immensely popular with Cavill in it, now it would be interesting to see if Hemsworth’s grey wig could live up to the fans’ expectations.
