Vini Jr and Nike have a new agreement. After 10 years of cooperation, the Real Madrid athlete and the Brazilian national team renewed the contract, announced this Friday (10).

“With the brand, I’ve been dreaming about for a decade… The sky’s the limit!!! Nike, Nike Football, let’s fly together!”, Vini Jr. wrote on his social network.

The relationship, now back on solid links, hit a rough patch a few months ago and appears to be heading towards an unfriendly split between the parties. Vini, an athlete with Roc Nation Sports, felt along with his staff that he was not an athlete valued by the brand and since the World Cup in Qatar, conflicts between the company and the athlete has lasted.

The beginning of a rebuilding relationship between the two occurred in May, when Nike launched a partial campaign with Vini Jr. following incidents of racism the athlete suffered during a confrontation with Valencia. In the piece, the company wrote “Stop looking the Other way,” followed by: “We stand with Vinicius Jr.”

As one of the world’s top soccer players and certainly the most influential Brazilian athlete today, Vini and Nike have negotiated a new contract to make him one of the faces of the main brand. The weight is equivalent to the size of Vini.
