Rodrygo Goes’ contract with Real Madrid has been officially extended to June 30, 2028. The Brazilian forward signs a three-season contract extension, extending his last one that ended in 2025. The white number 11 is being renewed shortly after Vinicius Junior, who has extended his affiliation with the Bernabéu company until 2027.

In 2018, Rodryigo became a Real Madrid player. After the wager on Vini, the White Club dealt Santos a 45 million euro blow, which was the second major blow to the Brazilian market for up-and-coming players. As evidenced by their individual extensions, both are now mainstays in the first squad and essential components of their next projects.

But Rodrygo didn’t actually join the White Club until 2019, after he became a majority. Similar to Vini, he only played three games at Castilla—during which he scored two goals—before earning his first-team debut. It happened against Osasuna, who also scored a goal shortly after entering the field of play, on the sixth matchday of the 19-20 League. He participated in 26 games and scored seven goals by the end of the season.

But his real breakthrough as a white star came in the 21–22 campaign, when he helped win the Fourteenth European Cup despite not being a starter, particularly with his double against City in the second leg of the semi-final. He ended that season with 49 games played and nine goals, a total that he significantly exceeded in 22–23, by which time he had already solidified his place as Benzema and Vini’s starting forward, going up to 57 games and 19 goals.

Despite his meager two goals this season—against Athletic and Braga—Madrid has persisted in its plan to extend the Brazilian international’s contract. He made his Canarinha senior squad debut in 2019 and represented Brazil at the World Cup held in Qatar.
