TAYLOR SWIFT’s megabucks tour has contributed to her becoming a US billionaire at the age of 33.
The superstar singer, who was spotted in New York on Thursday with actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, has made $400 million (£320 million) in music sales and an estimated $370 million (£305 million) in ticket and merchandise sales in the last four years.
Her bank account has also benefited greatly from The Eras Tour in the United States, for which she sold $700 million (£576 million) in tickets.
According to Bloomberg finance experts, Taylor is now worth at least £890 million, or $1 billiоn.
Taylor has been extremely frugal with her money since the money started coming in, which has helped her enormous fortune skyrocket.
She has amassed an impressive property portfolio, which began in 2009 with a beachfront condo that she still owns today.
Taylor has several properties in New York, including a massive 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom penthouse in the city’s ultra-hip Tribeca neighborhood.
She actually purchased two adjacent penthouses in 2014 before converting them into one massive one.
Taylor also owns a 1934 Beverly Hills mansion in Los Angeles that sits on nearly two acres of land and was originally owned by film producer Samuel Goldwyn.
The property of the Cruel Summer star has since been granted ‘landmark status’ by Beverly Hills City Council, much to Taylor’s delight.
In addition, the US singer is said to have spent her money on two private jets, including a £40 million Gulfstream. There’s even an Instagram account for tracking her planes.
Back on land, she has a sizable car collection, which includes a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG and a Ferrari 458 Italia.
Taylor, on the other hand, kept things real last year by driving around London in a no-frills Nissan Qashqai.
She also enjoys spending money on expensive cat breeds.
The animal lover has three pedigree cats named Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, one of which has a sizable bank balance.
Olivia Benson, a Scottish Fold, was estimated to be worth $97 million earlier this year due to her large Instagram following and appearances in her pop star owner’s music videos.
Taylor’s enormous fortune can be attributed in part to her decision to re-record her back catalogue of albums after the rights were sold without her permission.
That decision has netted her hundreds of milliоns of dollars and propelled her to the top of the charts seven times since 2019.
Earlier this month, the singer topped the UK box office with The Eras Tour Film, which grossed more than £76 million worldwide in its first weekend.
She will bring the tour to the UK next summer, performing ten sold-out stadium shows as well as additional dates around the world.
The re-recorded version of her Һit album 1989, released yesterday and featuring the singles Shake It Off and Blank Space, is expected to be her 11th No. 1 album in the UK next Friday.
Madonna has the most No. 1 singles of any female solo artist, with 12.
Madonna, on the other hand, has a smaller fortune, estimated to be worth £700 million.
Taylor wrote on Instagram about the album yesterday: “I was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time in 2014, and a part of me was reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so much.”
“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic you would sprinkle on my life for so long.”
