Henry Cavill Had To Train Rigorously to Maintain His Physique for Immortals
Henry Cavill starred in the 2011 fantasy action film Immortals. He played Theseus, a warrior chosen by the Gods to fight evil. For the role, Cavill was required to be incredibly fit and to maintain a lean physique throughout filming. He trained and worked out rigorously to attain the desired physique.
Cavill talked about the harsh conditions and the sacrifices that he made to develop a stunning eight-pack abs for the film. The hardship of getting rid of any body fat and maintaining a lean physique was a challenging one that Cavill had to keep constant throughout the film. He said (via IMDB),
“You can train and train until you are blue in the face but you’ve got to diet, you’ve got to have that leanness because if you are not lean, your abs won’t show. Of course, the training has to be put in, but then you’ve to shed all the fat and keep the fat off. And that’s how you get an eight-pack.”
Cavill is known for his hard work and his serious dedication to his roles. Thus, it is no surprise that he managed to maintain the required physique even though it was a cumbersome effort to get there. He continued maintaining a fit physique for Superman and other roles.
Henry Cavill’s Highlander Reboot to Begin Shooting Soon
It was a while ago that Henry Cavill was announced to star in the reboot of the 1986 action classic Highlander which was then led by Christopher Lambert. The reboot is going to be directed by Chad Stahelski who directed all 4 John Wick films. The progress of the film’s production was halted due to the Hollywood strikes.
Stahelski talked to Collider about his excitement about the project and also revealed that he hopes to start shooting the project within a year’s time. He said,
“We do not have a date, but let’s say within a year. [Laughs] Soon. Soon as I can. I’ve been developing two shows side by side: Ghost of Tsushima and Highlander. Those are the ones that I love. I have a couple of other ones that I really love. I have Rainbow Six and a few other things, but they’re still in development in the script phases. I’ve been trying to do Highlander now for eight years. I’d really love to do it. All the tumblers seem to be in play, and if everything goes well, we get finished with this strike, and our schedules all work out, it looks very, very probable.”
Fans are anxious and excited about this new collaboration between Cavill and Stahelski. With the director’s successful track record, the project will surely be a highly anticipated one. Fans have to wait and see how the project turns out as more updates will continue to come from its makers.
