SCOTT McTOMINAY has accused Georgia players of “provoking” the referee and “crying like babies” during tonight’s match in Tbilisi.

The Manchester United hero continued his sensational goal-scoring form with another strike to add to his tally in Georgia to make it seven in total for the campaign – levelling John McGinn and Steven Fletcher’s record for most goals in a qualifying round.

McTominay, 26, made it 1-1 after Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.

After Kvaratskhelia scored again to make it two, it appeared that Scotland would suffer another loss and endure more suffering in the nation, but Lawrence Shankland came up with a late away point in stoppage time.

He told Viaplay: “They’ve got some very good footballers but tonight, the way they were acting, it was a disgrace in terms of provoking the referee.

“That’s football and I guess it’s just the way it goes.

“They should do something about players pretending to be injured when they’re not.

“It’s a difficult one to call but rolling around and crying like babies all afternoon is not football.

For us, we just wanted to get on with our game whereas on the other side they were provoking the referee a lot.”
